I have so much admiration for these two lovebirds! Dylan was participating in an ultra-marathon the day after our shoot where he had to run 50 miles, but that didn’t stop them from exploring the gorgeous Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake for their engagement pictures! Kathrina and him drive their Sprinter van all around making memories and they always bring their pup, Hudson, with them. The two of them simply love being together outdoors and in new places which is why we new this would be the perfect location for their photo session!
They trusted me to pick two locations that would give us a variety of options for us to work in. Lake Tahoe has no shortage of stunning backdrops, but we settled on Donner Lake Camp Ground which gave us boulders + rocks lakeside! We then moved into wooded forestry location in the camp and finally ended on the lake dock at sunset. This shoot took place in August when the fire season was in full sing… the AQI was around 125 that day, but Kathrina + Dylan were both great sports about it and the defused light and hazy sunset on the doc ended up looking pretty fantastic on camera!!
These two were seriously the most amazing clients! They took the time to read through all of the tips and materials I gave them prior to their engagement session and chose their clothes based on that, which ended up looking incredible! You could easily tell how smitten they are with one another which made my job a breeze! It was so fun to give them pose prompts because they just let go and were authentically themselves in front of the camera! Their wedding day at Squaw Resort in Tahoe was equally as amazing and I cannot wait to share that on the blog with you as well!
