Romantic engagement photo ideas by Ashley Carlascio Photography.

For the vast majority of couples, your engagement session may be the first time you’re getting professional photos taken together! From experience, I know it can feel exciting and intimidating all at the same time. That’s why I strive to make the process fun and natural by guiding you with easy prompts and a ton of positive energy. I’ll give you things to do together that will bring out your personalities. This keeps you from ever feeling awkward in front of the camera or wondering what to do with your hands. I’ve worked with hundreds of couples, and making sure you feel confident and love your photos is what I am most passionate about.

Now let’s be honest for a second… I know we all look forward to sharing all of our engagement photos with our Instagram followers! And while that is GREAT, there are so many more creative and practical ways to make use of them that I think so many of us may not realize! In this blog post I’m sharing SEVEN ways to showcase your photos before, on, and after your wedding day!

Create a Holiday Card

It’s common to think of using your wedding photos on a holiday mailer, but if your wedding date doesn’t fall around the holidays, consider using an engagement photo! Your family and friends will be so excited to hang your photo up on their fridge… and it’s a good reminder of your upcoming wedding!

Create a Guest Signing Book

One of my favorite ways to use engagement photos is by creating an album of your favorite images with white space for your guests to write in on your wedding day! A guest book like this is one you’re much more likely to flip through years down the road and also one your guests will enjoy looking at during your reception.

Gift Them to Your Parents or Grandparents

I’m sure everyone is going to love your photos, but consider ordering a few favorites for your parents and grandparents! Bonus points if you frame them in a beautiful frame that they can proudly hang on their walls. This is always a great day-of wedding gift as well!

Make a Coffee Table Album

Most of us will have our photographer build a beautiful, custom wedding album as an heirloom, but consider putting together a smaller sized album of your engagement photos to keep on your coffee table. There’s nothing like having a tangible memento like that in your home to look back on!

Display Them at Your Welcome Table

Framing a few of your most swoon-worthy images to use on your welcome table at your wedding ceremony or reception is a great way to make use of them! It instantly adds some personalization to your decor and is bound to make your guests stop and look.

Hang Them in Your Home

Whether you and your fiancé share a home before the wedding or you’ll be moving into your first place together after, having your engagement photos displayed throughout the house is a perfect way to showcase some of your favorites!

Choose One for Your Save the Date

If you don’t want to make use of them on a holiday card, but you want to think of a way to mail one of your images out to all your wedding guests, you can add one to your save the date! Making a custom save the date card with your picture is a great reason for your guests to hang onto them.
