Hi, I'm ashley.

It’s always so special and unique when couples ask a close friend or family member to officiate their wedding ceremony. It’s a great way to personalize your ceremony and make it feel more unique to you and your love story as a couple. If the friend or family member you’re asking to officiate hasn’t done this before, here are three super easy but important to remember tips I suggest sharing with them:

  • Ask your officiant to write out “please be seated” in their script. I see this missed and guests will continue to awkwardly stand throughout the ceremony unless it’s specifically stated by the officiant.
  • Ask your officiant to say “please hold hands” if you forget to on your own. Photos from your ceremony will look a lot better if you are connected.
  • Have your officiant to step to the side before announcing you are married so your first kiss shot doesn’t have them in between you two!

I send helpful information like this (& more!!!) out to my email list every single week!! Want to make sure you don’t miss that AND as a thank you receive my FREE wedding planning checklist?
