Sometimes, when something is right, you just can’t wait. Jennifer and Christopher moved their wedding timeline forward despite the challenges a Covid wedding would present. After nearly a decade together and with a baby on the way, they couldn’t wait any longer to become husband and wife.
High school sweethearts, Jennifer and Christopher, decided to wed on Christopher’s parent’s property. Former natives of San Jose, Christopher’s parents opted to leave the Bay Area’s hustle and bustle to retire among Magalia’s evergreens. Jennifer loved the ethereal feeling of the wooded property, so she, Christopher, and his parents rolled up their sleeves and worked endless hours to get the property ready to host a wedding.
Jennifer and Christopher hosted their intimate ceremony on a beautiful July evening. So many of the day’s details showed just how deeply connected this couple is to one another and their families. The bridal party consisted solely of the couple’s siblings, with Christopher’s groomsmen being his brother and brother-in-law and Jennifer’s bridesmaids being her two sisters and sister-in-law. Christopher and his father built the platform that the ceremony took place on. The couple also created a Family Tree by adorning a multi-trunk pine with vintage photographs of their relatives.
Jennifer and Christopher’s wedding day was a sweet one, full of mauve, lavender, and champagne hues accented against the pines. From Jennifer lovingly holding her baby bump while wearing her wedding gown to Christopher surprising his bride with a performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” there were so many beautiful moments for me to capture.
One of the moments most important to Jennifer and Christopher was one of my favorites to document as a photographer—the first look! They wanted a special moment together, just the two of them, before the wedding began. Jennifer and Christopher waited for this day for a long time and, as expectant parents, it was even more special for them to reflect on all they had been through together and all the love their future together will surely hold.
