Oscar and Karin met in Chile. They speak Spanish together and Oscar is learning English! This engagement session took place at her family’s lakefront property. It was gorgeous, but more, it’s a meaningful and sentimental location for them.
I’m going to be real honest here, this was my first engagement session with a language barrier. Going into it I was a little nervous!
Making couples feel confident and comfortable during their session is my job.
I get to know them, guide them through poses, and help them have fun. I was pretty sure my sophomore Spanish from 10+ years ago would not do the trick. Turns out, it didn’t matter! Much communication came from body language cues. When that failed – Karin was right there giggling away and telling Oscar what to do in her own words. This made for so much laughter.
I can only imagine, Oscar hearing Karin tell him, “Kiss me” “Put your nose on my face and nussle,” haha. They were such good sports! This experience so much fun. You can see in the photos their genuine sweetness, and love for one another.
