Jordan + Jack are two of the kindest, most fun-loving people you’ll ever meet which is so evident by all of their friends who wanted to be a part of the wedding day at the gorgeous Bailey Creek at Lake Almanor. Since the couple has sooo many friends and couldn’t pick and choose for their wedding party, they opted to have a “Blue Crew” instead of selecting just a few bridesmaids and groomsmen. I absolutely loved this unique idea! It made for a few fun candid photos with lots of energy AND, as a positive side effect, it also allowed for more of our portrait time to be focused on them as a couple. It was a win-win in my opinion!
One sweet trendy, yet sentimental details of the day was a blue jean jacket custom made by one of Jordan’s friends. To honor Jordan’s mom, you could see a locket pinned inside the pocket of the jacket. On the locket was a photo of her late mom as a way to have her there for her special day. It was so incredibly sweet to see Jordan proud to show me the locket and how filled with gratitude she was that her friend had made that jacket for her.
Another touching detail from the day was their wedding cake baked by Jordan’s stepmom. She makes a carrot cake every year for Jordan’s birthday and wanted to make one to cut on her wedding day. Carrot cake is also what Jack’s parents had at their wedding. It was such a sweet way to tie in some personal touches at the reception.
All these special and unique details bring all the feels to weddings for me. I absolutely love it when couples truly make their wedding day their own, it really makes their day true to them and memorable!
